Welcome, Wr.

The forecast certainly doesn't look as if it will do Ducati any favours - they may be heading into WUP with the only useful dry time being on the '12 bike! Lorenzo may well be spitting chips at the Hondas ahead of him, tow or no for Dovi. Stoner put in three laps in 1.49.0x out of a total flying laps of 10, nobody else got within cooee of any consistency at under about 1.49.4 or so.

I think the resurfacing of the track would be responsible for the times we saw in FP1.

Edit: (And of course fast riders!)

If that is the case, what does that say about how the Yamaha package has progressed?

Never heard them (my friends) mention a word about him before this season.
Just curious why he is so popular atm.

I don't know if it's the case for all VR fans to be MS fans...

Talking for myself, I just like entertaining, exciting riders. Rossi, Simoncelli, Lorenzo, DePuniet, Ianonne are all riders I enjoy watching because you always think something could and probably will happen. Saying that, the single most explosive bit of riding this year was Pedrosa at the end of the Estoril race... nothing else so far this season comes close.

Agree - though 'explosive' maybe in the sense that it exploded the 'Pedrosa always fades' shibboleth. I freely admit to being down on Singlecelli for that incident because it has kicked out the possibility (for now) of a truly interesting struggle for ascendancy between Stoner and Pedrosa with the winner taking considerable kudos just from beating the other guy. If Pedrosa ends the season with no more than 'could have been a contender' status as a result it won't be a fair ending for him or the era.

Absolutely agree with the consequences of Simo's "error's" this season, but to look at him on his own as a rider, he's fantastic to watch. I still firmly believe he will come good.

I´ve had a hard time liking Simoncelli since his 250-days where he rode with the same lack of concern for others. I consider him a very talented and fast but dirty rider.

Maybe it will get heated out there this week end.

So they're all sitting in their pit boxes because it's a bit wet out there? Damn, they'd better not try that at P.I., the attack penguins will drive them out to keep the crowd happy.

I can't help thinking things are really not looking good at Ducati. Considering the amount of time they've had on track since the resurface I didn't think they'd be quite so far off, I mean, one would have expected them to have figured out a decent base setting. They must have felt positive enough about the GP12 to make the decision to shelve the GP11 and roll out the new bike, take another two motors, or at least feel a certain amount if confidence that the risk would be rewarded in terms of lap times. What does it feel like if this is still happening by Misano? I really hope they find something that works very soon, it's getting harder to watch Vale looking so obviously uncomfortable on the bike, it must be even harder to watch from where he's sitting.

AT LAST! - something other than a Honda heads up a session! It looks as if Lorenzo has taken Assen personally...

Here is an interesting observation, Rossi's FP3 time is sandwiched between Bautista and Hayden and is closer to Bautista's than Hayden's. What odds do you reckon you would have gotten on that at the start of the season or even after the announcement of the GP11.1?

About the same odds I had Dovi being ahead of Pedrosa in the championship and Karel Abraham not being last :?

Did NOT see that lap coming at all... the cameras were following other riders, Lorenzo's partial times weren't on-screen and suddenly WHAT THE... :o

Funny business with Nicky and the local fauna there. Now every factory except Suzuki has had on-track bad hare days. Still, this would have just been another racing incident right?

The Yams look great, even using Edwards as the yardstick rather than the factory boys. Bad luck for Stoner to get stuck behind someone (Bautista, I think) for his last two laps but no way was he going to match that.

Stoner still maintains great race pace though. I'm not sure who was running what tyre wise either.

Great to see Lorenzo on top. Cat amongst the pidgeons perhaps, hopefully he challenges for the win too.

Yup. Stuff-all laps and he still got in a bunch of consecutive fast laps at the end, just like yesterday. I'm curious to see how his health holds out over the course of the race, as I have a hunch it's actually more serious than he's letting on, and was at Assen too.

I was hoping for a little more from Crutchlow this morning. Maybe that's not being fair, but I've enjoyed watching him so much this season and I've raised my expectations a bit.

Who thinks Elias is going to finish the season? After the ultimatum and a few improvements during wet weekends he's back to looking pretty miserable again.

I assume Jorge and Sic were on soft rubber?
Anyone know what Stoner was using? Looks like their race pace is close if he was running the harder compound. Stoner and Jorge will be hoping Sic controls himself.

Could be a great race!

Casey didnt go out on the soft tyres at all, still a fantastic lap by Jorge.

From what I saw Simo's middle stint was on the softer option but couldnt see what he was using at the end.

The top 3 are equally matched for race pace, around the 1.48.7(8) mark.

Hmm. Are the soft tyres the new qualifiers? I only ask because time and time again top riders are favouring the hards in the actual race for fear the softs won't last. Also re Stoner, if getting heat into the hards is no problem for him, and historically it hasn't been, does that mean this his hards are closer in grip to, say, Elias' softs? Also, if it's hot this afternoon will the softs cease to be an advantage for QP?
