Sorry, just to clarify here, I didn't mean to say he let them past. What I meant to say is that once they were past he didn't try to keep up. He would have just tried to finish and consolidate 3rd.

I've seen quite a few riders suffer with arm pump from gloves that weren't correctly fitted. In road racing, trials and MX. Even BMX and push bike trials.

For reference: Stoner passed Pedrosa on lap 18 and Lorenzo on lap 27. Lorenzo was a total machine until he was passed... laps 15 through 23 are just amazing, really
