- From laps 18 to 21 the riders were battling so I dont think CS's lap times tell us much other than the obvious. Casey couldn't keep them behind him and couldn't re attack once they got past so he may have just let them go. The extra lap it took DP to get around JL cost him 0.7 seconds and the chance of a win. Whether he could have got around JL is I suppose another question.

Sorry, just to clarify here, I didn't mean to say he let them past. What I meant to say is that once they were past he didn't try to keep up. He would have just tried to finish and consolidate 3rd.

I've seen quite a few riders suffer with arm pump from gloves that weren't correctly fitted. In road racing, trials and MX. Even BMX and push bike trials.

For reference: Stoner passed Pedrosa on lap 18 and Lorenzo on lap 27. Lorenzo was a total machine until he was passed... laps 15 through 23 are just amazing, really
