This is not a bike ,but does have 2 wheels.........A Japanese guy I know ( a bit of a gypsy type character) is 2400kms into a 3500km trip with this....Its a bit of agricultural machienery that he is using to pull a trailer with.A lot of old people in years gone by actually used these on a daily basis, but we dont see them much any more. Its diesel powered. Makes 5HP and runs at 15Kmh.............Oh and you have to crank start it.....Would make for a fun trip if one had the time!

That is positively awesome. It is that bit of humanity that is the best of what we are - the desire to do or accomplish something that requires total committment for no tangible benefit.

Hola Rapidemente Uno!
Now, that's a motorcycle!
Notice how he's maximizing the contact patch at the rear...
I'd like to see him romp on that front disc brake. Nice pic. 8d

Lockheed Girling were good but they're never that polished in regular/normal use.
I'm more impressed by the Kawasaki Mach 3 behind the Commando! I think it's fair to say that it was the first bikes to REALLY scare me!

It was touted as being able to wheelie at 100mph and while it didn't quite live up to the hype it was un-nerving to be doing 105/110mph and find it wouldn't take a gentle bend because the front tyre wasn't quite making full contact with the ground!
The hinge in the middle of the rubber frame didn't help either!

Nice Honda there as well! Looks like a 305cc CB77. Possibly the SS model. (anyone???) They were a rarity in UK.

For a moment there, I was wondering what's so cool about a bicycle (not that they aren't cool), then I noticed the little engine. That is cool.

As ridden by the late, lamented Santiago Herrero.
http://motorcycle-racing.suite101.com/a ... go_herrero
It was nothing more than a tuned 2 stroke MX motor but it was beating bikes that it really ought not to have been capable of beating.

Here's one from the other side! A fabrication engineer's work of art!

Exactly. The Buell has some cool things about it but many of the central ideas were done before...just by guys everyone thought were crazy.

It didn't take a lot of finding cos I did a little bit of digging for it a couple of years ago.

I'm also old enough to remember Santi racing the damned thing!

That YB-1 would fetch some big $$$ in the 'west'. IIRC the Ossa has been restored and running in Spanish street races.
