Top post on the front page

Ever since the calendar post, a particular news item seems to be pinned permanently at the top despite new posts (ref. Price of success and Vito interview). Just wondering, is this a new feature to give more emphasis to David's opinion pieces or just a bug?

Just an experiment. I won't just be pinning my own pieces (though I provide about 95% of the content on the site), but anything I think that requires more prominence. There'll be a few small changes to the design to accommodate this idea, plus making easier access to some of the other posts. Always interested in people's opinions and input on this.

Might be more useful to find a way to highlight the post as well instead of just pinning it, to really give it an emphasis. A border or something, like what asphaltandrubber does with the redbox, just not that red.

Good idea! I'll look into that, maybe change the background color on the front page.

I like the format and colour scheme of the main site I find it easy on the eye and original.

For a few days I didn't realise this had happened, and quickly moved away from the site not realising there was a new update beneath it- in this case about a page's worth! Am running a 13" Macbook (1280 x 800)
