Well, you can never go wrong with the CRF. However, it might be a little down on power compared to the others. I haven't heard of anyone having problems with the KTM. Personally, I'd probably go for the Husky or the KTM but if you want something you know will always run, the CRF is the right choice.

First I was thinking in line of something that could be legally run on the road but now I'm not so sure any more! :D

I have to say they are weary strictly enforced!
Also we have weary high penalties but I'm not sure it really helps.
And a lot of cops around! Also because I live near the outside border of EU.

Example for Inside urban area where limit is 50km/h
- less than 10 km/h over the limit: 80 EUR
- 10 to 20 km/h over the limit: 250 EUR + 3 points
- 20 to 30 km/h over the limit: 500 EUR + 5 points
- more than 30 km/h over the limit: 1.000 EUR + 9 points and no more driving
- more than 50 km/h over the limit: 1.000 EUR + 18 points and you have to do the driving license again

Hmmmmm. We can get our licence back here if you do a half day lecture and pay 13,800 yen..........The fines can be pretty heavy if you get caught
The country back roads where we ride are not really policed at all so that is somewhat of a factor in my bike choice.. Maybe the CRF is good ,then (provided you get it registered). Either way, getting another bike is FUN... :P

From what I've heard from friends, basically you're quoted whatever the officer that caught you feels like giving. Not sure if an upper limit actually exists.

Ouch, that hurts just thinkin' about it. Brings back memories of riding the creek bed near where I grew up. Exactly why I learned to be the fastest in the neighborhood, rocks/roost hurt.

Gustav, I like the white much better than the black. Just looks "sharper" to me.

I sold the Hawk (sniff :( ) and the VTR (I don't miss the street at all). So it's just the 749 and the 650 now...

Some of the toys. We mini MX on the monkey's. I think all up my wife (XT225/TLR50), my son and I have about 15 bikes. Couple of '96 CR125's an old hand built 7 speed 125 GP bike my dad race back in the late 60's, Couple of trials bikes. Plenty to play on. I was a motorcyle mechanic for 27 years so you collect a bit along the way!

A lot of Ducati during the last 13 years. The last one is a Desmosedici RR which has now 21000 km on the tacho, on road and track, all year long.
