It may be artistic Rusty but I think this one is probably one of the most famous!

I've never really liked Motegi, for many reasons. One of those reasons is the pictures usually aren't very good; low sun angles and long shadows often don't mix with this sport, but this one works for me:

This was one of my favorite threads when I first visited the forum not so long back, I think I'll skip it from now on. As a woman, it really is offensive. Sorry guys, I know this isn't a girl place and I probably have no right to comment. I was just taken aback. Do carry on, don't mind me.

Great earlier pictures though. Really some beautiful stuff.

I don't wish to sound as if a prude, but this is just the wrong thread for that photo - not a problem I think for the 'Bad Jokes' etc. thread in the General section, where there is a warning of 'poor taste' that warns those who may (reasonably) find some things somewhat offensive. Big T, it's great to have another member of the mtm family posting but that one rather misses the point of this particular thread - would you consider moving it over to the 'General' thread? It's a damn funny photo, I agree (though 'upskirting' will actually get you charged in some countries!) - just not really appropriate for this thread.

Note to Big T, and all who've since seen and/or commented:
FWIW, I actually know a little of the backstory of that picture. The photographer claims that he was following Rossi and didn't realize he was also taking an accidental upskirt shot until he saw it later. But that's immaterial here.

As Oscar points out, that's really not the gist of this thread. Big T is new here, so I'm going to assume he didn't intend to offend anyone, and I'm going to go ahead and apologize to any of the offended fairer sex in our little clan. I do have things to do between work and home, but that's really not a tone we keep around these parts...

Most of you already know, if you find something offensive, you may directly address Dr. Krop, Rats, or me (or all 3 at once) in a PM.

Knowing several photographers in the paddock, I don't believe a word of that explanation. It's really quite disheartening sometimes.

Personally, I love pictures of bikes, and I'm not averse to pictures of attractive young ladies. I just prefer to keep them separate. That's why you never see pictures of umbrella girls on the front page: If you want to see pictures of young attractive women, I believe there are one or two special websites for that...

Keep it clean, if you please gentlemen. And ladies!

I don't know what the hell happened but I can guess.

Just a quick note as I don't want to beat a dead horse but I take the picture topics pretty seriously which is why I don't post these more often (well, that and I'm lazy). In all honesty I am emotionally attached to the pictures I post and I even have a hard time when people stray further from the theme than I like (don't worry, I still love the additions and I consider it a personal issue) .

So, my point is: don't mess with my picture topics.

RedJet - I think I speak for all the family (though I have no right to assume such a lofty position) when I say that mtm has a number of most highly respected and appreciated female contributors to the forum and I for one hope you won't feel it is a haven of sad mysoginists. While there is a serious gender imbalance in motorcycle racing, I honestly can't recall ever reading any comment on this site denigrating the opinion of any woman contributor to it because of their gender - though you WILL be subject to the same intense scrutiny as any contributor for reasons of unobjective bias or wooly thinking.

Now if that isn't genuine equality, I haven't met it yet..

I second Oscar's words and I'd just like to add that whilst the vast majority of the membership are males we still appreciate the presence of the females of the site!

RedJet,

I hope you caught the thread where many of us were pounding the table with our fists and insisting that women can (and we hope to see) be as fast as men in MotoGP. ;)

You have every right to comment and this place belongs to you as much as it does any male. In retrospect, I can understand how you would find the photo offensive. I hope my comment didn't offend you, it was meant to be humorous and not derogatory.

BTW, welcome to the forums.

Hello all,

I have been overwhelmed by very kind messages. Be assured that everything is cool. None of the comments caused any additional offense, and really I am very happy and very comfortable here. I love motorcycle racing, my husband thinks me obsessed and he's the one that introduced me to the sport!

I fully expect to be treated as an equal, as someone mentioned, and that I shall be properly chastised for any, was the word used "muggy"? comments. Abuse away and believe me, I will give you more than enough ammunition.

I do love the pictures in this thread and that David posts on the main board. It is the best site around.

Now, treat me as one of the boys if you will ;)

Aaaah - Gazza AND Bazza - they both had to make it into this thread sometime. Thanks, WayneG!

That shot of Stoner is ferociously concentrated - that IS a heads-up display apex targeting line on his visor, no? The epitome of Lucy's comment about Stoner leaping all over the bike like a hyperactive gibbon...
