:D I see what you mean, just saying Abraham is no better or worse than any other candidate. But what are the options?
Glad you asked......
First, as I've written (ad nauseum) I don't agree Abraham was the best candidate, just the one most financially attractive.
In JoeKing's perfect MotoGP world, the class would be for 2 types(?) of riders..the potential race winners, & the "upwardly mobile" newer entries trending toward eventually joining the first group. Give a prospect 1-3 years to show potential, if not out you go, presuming there is someone showing more promise waiting in the wings.
If we agree the raison d'etre of the series is to provide spectators the best show; I see no reason to keep the (mal)lingerers like Capirex, Edwards, (pains me to say) Hayden (on a Ducati) & (strike me dead) Rossi if the debacle continues thru 2012; image another 1 1/2yrs. of this soap-opra. Good theatre perhaps...good racing..not so much.
As long as the manufacturers are allowed to force the price of admission higher to promote their selfish ends, we'll see even less(?) qualified Abrahams & lappers.
Casey should focus on the championship and not get involved in all these sideshows.
Touchy?...he was asked his opinion...I think he has the right to express his, he's not exactly an un-interested 3rd party. The sideshow is only on this thread, I doubt the rest of the world is burdened with this "weighty" conundrum
