Re: 2011 R14 Motegi Race Topic ** Spoilers**

The RC212V was reasonably sorted out by Motegi last year. Dovi was on pole and finished 2nd while Stoner won on the GP10. We can only guess what Pedrosa would have been up to. If we consider they are even stronger now and their gearbox should be worth some good time every time they leave the hairpins, there is no reason to expect them to not have a 1-2 with either Pedrosa or Stoner winning.

Lorenzo will certainly do his best to upset them and that's a guy I'll never bet against, but...

What does the weather for the weekend look like?
That's me in the picture.

Rossi could be anywhere from 2nd to 10th. Him winning would probably meltdown the entire internet.

One thing i will miss this year is Rossi and lorenzo beating the crap out of each other that was fun to watch
but i feel honda will be unhappy with anything bar a 123 finish this weekend

Nothing to fear. You may yet have a chance to see Rossi in a bash-up with a certain Spanish rider. That is, Elias or Bautista....

:P

There's going to be two Aussie's in the field with Damian Cudlin getting the surprise call up to replace Capirex. He's a talented guy who has probably never gone as far as he deserves to due to lack of funds and sponsorship. A decent ride could put him on the radar of some Moto2 teams, he did a race or two there last season.

FP1, and Stoner appears to have remembered how the track goes.. Dovi appears to be out to prove he's bloody annoyed at the way things have gone.. Rossi almost 0.9 behind Hayden? Every damn step Ducati have taken this year seems to result in two steps back, it's getting beyond silly.

You can understand Rossi's frustration when his team mate on the old bike is third in fp1 and he is 13th on the next gen bike. They are heading in the wrong direction.

HRC have got to be happy with a lockout of the top spots in FP2. Not that they would expect anything less. Abraham will have the wildcards all over him unless he finds some more pace.

Pedrosa has solid fast times, Lorenzo struggling to get consistency below mid 47's but on the times sheet looks ok to knock Singelcelli down a place and fight with Dovi. Wonder who was using what tyres?

Wow, thanks for that. I especially like the Rothmans Honda - that thing looks frightening even standing still.

I feel so bad for Ben. He said he had tunnel vision and decided it was perhaps best to tuck in for the day. Hope he can race, he'll try but he might only be able to give Cudlin a run for his money. If he races at all.

My little'un is looking fantastic! :D

Cudlin has knocked 3 sec of his FP1 time and was quicker than Itoh in FP3, good on him. :)

FP3. The Voice of Doom said yesterday that he thought they had a set-up idea to get a bit more out of the bike. Yep, another half a second. And nearly as much for the Transistorised Tarmac Terror. How many of the top brass at HRC are quietly knocking back a contemplative saki right now and thinking the investment in the new gearbox was a cheap alternative for combating the Red Peril?

QP... and Lorenzo's quickest lap was just delightful to watch, he was really skinning the thing. Nobody could accuse him of not giving it the best shot, but if he can get a podium tomorrow it will be a fairly epic ride, I think. The worrying thing for everybody else, is that Stoner's best lap didn't look at all flurried either - no big moves, just really fast motoring along. Dovi - great work, shoving it right up HRC's nose at home, while Singlecelli lit the afterblunder again... Pedrosa didn't seem to be on his top game at all, wonder if they stuffed up the setting or something was not working quite right?

Cudlin can, I think, be justifiably satisfied with his progress; the only shot I saw of him, he was giving it a damn good go.
