Guhh. The marketing geniuses behind MotoGp and it's .com website have decided to put on sale, now at the end of testing season, the off season Video pass, for Eur 14.95!!
This includes : the upcoming Jerez test (no live video feed presumably, just their normal wrap ups and terrible commentary) and...the right to watch the Qatar race, for free! (something I can do on a few networks for free)
I was a subscriber for a couple of seasons, but the price basically doubled for last year so i was barely on board for that, and the live feed was consistently poor - customer support non existant, no tests covered properly and on and on. Now I have the chance to buy something worth nothing, for Eur 14.95!!! Aren't we lucky that the fate of the sport we all love is in the hands of such a clever and accommodating bunch?

Depends on your options. In Sweden MotoGp is aired by Viasat Motor and I can not get that even though I have cable in my appartement and we are not allowed sattelite dishes on the balcony. My only options to watch MotoGP is to have the videopass or to download the stuff illegally, and not live. I don´t like the increase in price but I need my MotoGP-fix!

Wow. Was that for the HD version, with all the sessions? I have only purchased the HD version in 2009, 2010 an 2011. Was it 49 in 2008? I'm in th US, but I'm assuming its the same for all markets, no?

It was probably before HD. I've had it for years.

Edit. I've had it since 2005...2007 was HD introduced.

While there are some things less than desirable about the site I still think it's a bargain. Since I've been doing the season pass they added the whole library of races back to '92 where years ago it was only selected races, they included those selected races (MotoGP Classics) which was a separate subscription, live timing has improved, and HD has been added and improved itself over the last couple years. For the very modest increases in price they're trying to give a lot. You will pay more than the whole season for a single live pay per view event here in the states like a premier boxing match. Being in the US the MotoGP subscription is a no brainer. There is no way I'm going to suffer through SpeedTV and their insulting scam they call race broadcasts. Ok, I do have to suffer Nick Harris' recycled commentary phrases but I'm used to him and think of him as the well meaning uncle that constantly repeats himself.

What hasn't improved/needs improving. The live feeds do tend to suck sometimes. I can only attribute this to insufficient server capacity and bandwidth. Sometimes you get a good feed, sometimes it times out and you never get a good connection again during the race, sometimes you can't get HD even though it's supposed to be streaming HD. Funny how the same race watched later is just fine. They also often have problems with media servers when trying to watch previous seasons' races. Sometimes one race will constantly close the connection or have a stuttering feed even after ensuring their recommendations that blame such stuttering on my end. While that file is wonky I can often select the next race or a race in another season that works fine. In short their whole quality of service sometimes is a bit dodgy. I'd forgo all the extra's and interview if they would just get the life feed and archive viewing stable. That's about my only complaint.

Yes I do remember that they use to broadcast more of the testing but no big deal. Testing is pretty boring and having a full crew to cover the whole track over several hours doesn't seem that great when there's lots of downtime. The quick review videos of testing are fine for me.

I finally have a laptop with an HDMI output so hooking it to the TV was great and improved the experience a lot compared to sitting in my computer room and just watching it on my laptop.

I got a subscription this year because I can never get enough racing, and I also want to start following Moto2 and Moto3 since I don't know much about the teams or racers.

And honestly the price is worth it just so I don't have to hear
- that idiot on Speed break into the world feed after a commercial and pronounce #99s last name as "Lorentho"
- Speeds usual loud graphics/music about texting to get motorcycle racing results
- The AMA commentators during the Laguna Seca round. And the whole no commercials, uninterrupted racing thing is nice as well.

That is the proper pronounciation of his last name, it just sounds like you're saying it with a lisp.

It's live on the BBC... you'll have to put up with Steve Parish and Charlie Cox, but there's no advert breaks or anything.

Did anyone else have problem with the live feed ?
I was watching the live feed and also had the live timing running,(on the computer) but the live timing dropped out after a couple of laps
and would not let me log back in!!

Message would come up saying, "Try again later"

Like when, after the F###en race?

I had the live feed drop off about 3 times during the MotoGp race, twice during the Moto2 race. Could not continue in HD and had to keep switching between A and B feeds to keep going. Same problem as last year, 100 Euros for a crap feed.

It wouldnt let me watch in 720P. If I selected that, it hiccuped and went to a race from LAST YEAR all by itself. I just came back later and watched the recorded versions.

I had viewing perfection in 720HD. In the past, I would have to flip from A to B, back to A, settle for standard, etc. Go figure...

During the Moto2 race I had slight problems with the HD version by switch to standard for a while and when I got back the HD worked perfect til the end.

I must be the only person left in England without a TV I gave it up, just so little worth watching these days the TV license is just not worth the money IMO.

I know the feeling mate... MotoGP is pretty much the only thing I watch on TV. Not to mention, I don't really understand what they're saying in a lot of the Scottish programmes.
