The Skipper is - who else - Alberto Puig. "Gilligan!!"

Adriana Stoner as Mary Ann. ;)

Casting Carmelo and Rossi as Thurston and 'Lovey' Howell was a masterstroke!

As of FP2, 'Lovey' looks to be scheduled for his very own 3 Hour Tour of Qatar on race day.

Is it true that Luthi punched Marquez on the cool-down lap? I expect this thread to light up like a bonfire if it's correct...

He gave him a potent slap. It was openhanded, but way harder than Stoners lttle bip on RdP.

QUESTION

What are those blinking lights on the left forearms of all the Alpinestar wearing riders? A heart rate indicator? ?????

So - are we talking Euro 10k here? And two year's worth of Luthi-bashing? I ask only by way of gauging the even-handedness of all concerned in assessing the crime.

I think race control didnt address the Luthi smack issue as a shitty excuse for not addressing the Marquez pass. Covering their asses as they knew all hell would have broken loose if they had fined Luthi and let Marquez slide.

My view is he should have copped equal punishement and pages of comment by the public the same as Casey was, for all the same reasons .... but I'm old enough to realise the world doesn't work that way :D

edit: should add to that, Marquez should have been penalized for dodgy ontrack manouvers. Squid summed it up well when he said they couldn't punish Luthi without nailing Marquez... and that won't happen.

So, I guess we can expect the stinging denunciation of Luthi to commence once the righteous indignation of the usual protagonists has passed from incandescence into the limpid pools of eternal damnation?

Oscar you naughty, naughty boy :lol

I suppose the difference between the 2 incidents is that RDP was being careless while MM was being deliberately aggressive. Both very dangerous of coarse.

My two cents.....

Luthi the same fine that was handed to Stoner.

...his two taps on the helmet to indicate MM was/is a dunce/nutcase/wanker was sufficient, and excusable. ;) 8-)

MM the same penalty as handed to Zarco,.......or Simoncelli........or at the very least, points deducted to be 2 to 5 less than Luthi managed to secure by finishing.

That's the problem with race control/direction though , isn't it.

A rule for one, varying all the time, and not for others.

If you're there to police things, then police without fear or favour.

you can't split hairs on that stuff.

Unlike Stoner Luthi has not on several occasions kicked at, waved at or in other ways told other rider he is wight and they are wrong on- or off-track when someone does a mistake. ;)
The slap, not harder than Stoners Punch, was also on the slow down lap and not during QP. A lot of differences imho.

Absolutely Oscar, no rider has any right whatsoever to demonstrate anger via physical means when they are on the bikes... totally out of order and deserves the same criticism that Stoner got.

Unfortunately, Luthi is in Moto2, he is not exactly someone who's right in the media attention so it will not be reported or discussed in the same manner as Stoner... that my friend you just have to deal with.

Ah, so it's the identity of the slapper, not the principle, that's the key to the issue.

Just wanted to check on that.

It of course does play a part in it, and I had a big ;) at the end as well. Biggest difference I believe is that it was on the cool down lap and not during "action".
but we have changed race direction from last year so that plays a part as well imo.

the difference is there haven't been armies of Luthi fans trying to justify his actions and explain why it was the right thing to do

Contextual as well as identity-driven? Now I am confused. I guess that it's a bit like justice - principle doesn't apply if there's a higher cause to be served.
