I assume everyone is still giddy about being able to keep our eyes open during the MotoGP race last weekend. I for one can't wait for Misano this weekend. Hey Nori it's a good thing your bike doesn't have mirrors! :o Go Ben!

Speez reeled in Haga (who appears to have lapsed back into his typical mid-season apathy) by 5 points but was robbed in race 2 by a slipping clutch. What in the name of High School Football is going on in that Yamaha Italia garage? They might as well have employed me as a mechanic. "Who was supposed to adjust that clutch?" "Well, it was Lucy's job but she just played Shin Megami Tensei on her PSP instead. Now she's taking a nap in the motorhome and nobody dares wake her up." I make that a 68 point handicap Speez is carrying due to technical problems with the bike. Unbelievable.

I'm curious as to what happened to Biaggi as well. It looked like his first bike was giving him problems so I wondered what made him wait so long to switch bikes. Should've gone in together with Nakano. Sadly, I was too tired and fell asleep immediately after they crossed the line and missed WSS and the first 10 laps of round 2.

Anyway, was it just my fatigue or did the pace in both races felt extremely slow?
It felt like I was watching the 125GP races. Times like this really highlight how different Dorna and IMS handle the camera work. Wonder what happened to on-board cams too. They had some last year so I'm surprised at the lack of this year. Cutting costs I guess.

With a 49 point gap in the championships, Steve Martin has declared that the race for the no.1 spot is over. I don't really agree as you can never predict any DNFs. For all we know, Yamaha continues leaving a few screws loose on Ben's bike while Nori falls asleep every once in a while and Fabrizio suddenly becomes world champ! Not something I'd want to see and simply too early in the game to declare a clear winner though I concede that the title is very much within Nori's grasp.

What is it about Italian race teams when racing in Italy? :!:
Monza, Mugello, now Misano... :?:

I missed out on whatever happened to Hopkins. So, anybody know what happened to him?
The internal combustion engine was not put on wheels just to rest the horses.

Hopper tried during practice,, his call,, wasn't without pain and didn't want to risk it yet, especially during a flag-to-flag.
,,should be ready next round.

Speaking of reliability ,,How 'bout the TenCats Honda during the bike switch,, the mechs' couldn't have the bikes started and warmed up? NONSENSE :x

,,and congrats to "king of the rain" Shakey Burns,, I had no idea.

There are still 300 points for which to race but The Ben needs to outscore Haga by an average of about 8 points per race - a very tough assignment. He basically needs to win almost every remaining race and hope Haga DNFs; both of which lie in the realms of the possible rather than the probable.

But in Salt Lake City a double win cut the deficit an awful lot, especially with Haga running low top 10. I think it's any of the first three's. Hoping Haga wins it though, he deserves one after his fantastic career.

Watching on eurosport was incredibly painful. Missed the WSS restart and just showed the last 2 laps. Alan Partridge as lead commentator. 'There's number 29, Jakub Smrz!' Consistently saying Spies was running 7th in the second race when that was Tom Sykes. Idiots. I was shouting at my TV, actually pounding my fists down on the table I was so mad. Why are Whitham and Burnicle doing BSB now? It's almost enough to make me switch to Steve Martin and his eunuch friend.

Dammit! I was wondering what happened to them. Right now, they are the best English-language commentary available.

They are good but I get kind of annoyed with Burnicles constant talk about where the riders are from, Cumbrina, Northern Lads yada yada. It only took him like five rounds to stop saying Airwaves Ducati as well. Whitham is good though.

They feel a little bit like family to me now, maybe a little strange, but to me their commentary is excellent and I love the banter, mocking of Fabrizio etc
