2012 Aragon WSBK QP2 Results: Melandri Sets New Lap Record

Marco Melandri pips Tom Sykes by setting a new outright lap record, while Carlos Checa surprises with a provisional third place. Leon Camier beats the GoldBet BMWs but his team mate John Hopkins destroyed an engine early on and, thanks to the single bike rule, misses the opportunity to try to contest Superpole. The surprise for the morning is the resurgence of the Ducatis, especially Carlos Checa, even considering he got a podium last year.
