Result and summary of qualifying for the Moto2 class at Mugello:
Pol Esparagaro has taken pole for the second time this season, setting the fastest qualifying time with a flying lap in the last minute of the session. Despite an ankle injury picked up this morning in a crash caused by Johann Zarco, Espargaro took pole from Marc Marquez, to start ahead of the man leading the championship. Marquez will start from 2nd, after leading for most of qualifying, while Andrea Iannone will start from 3rd, despite qualifying in 4th. Johann Zarco set the 3rd fastest time during qualifying, but has been put back 15 places on the grid for his crash with Espargaro during FP3 this morning.

287,303 and about a second
I've been watching this with a jaundiced eye over the length of the weekend.
First off, congrats to Pol. Richly deserved.
The issue is CRT.
When a standard issue, control motor 600cc engine is as close to a 1000cc CRT piece of kit and about a second a lap off its pace, something sucks.
Of course the comparison is yet again related to Petrucci's Aprilia engined bike in terms of straight line speed.
In terms of outright lap times ? Moto 2 are closing CRT down hand over fist.
This is Mugello and should not be the case.
No sign of the 350km/hr barrier being broken in GP class either.
800cc was the pinnacle of prototype GP 4 stroke racing by and large.
Back to Moto 2 and Pol Espargaro. This is another youngster that any GP team should have on their radar in terms of signings for 2013.
Dunlop ! Good on your efforts.
351 km/h
Well they said Rossi had 351 km/h in free practise. It makes a difference wether you look at the real data or the speed trap, the speed trap is always either too early or too late to pick up the correct top speed.
Yes
They showed it also on telly during QP. Barbera had 356 at the front wheel (while at the speed trap was 34something)
