2012 Indianapolis MotoGP Warm Up Result: Spies Heads Up Pedrosa And Lorenzo

The injured MotoGP riders came through with flying colors during morning warm up. Factory Yamaha rider Ben Spies was fastest man of the day, looking very fit despite a massive highside yesterday which left him black and blue. Spies leads from Dani Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo. After being cleared fit by the circuit medical staff, Casey Stoner tested his ankle during warm up, and looks set to race after taking 6th spot with a time just six tenths off the pace of Spies.

Of course it's not bad luck

Well, 7 laps in and Ben's engine has blown on the main straight (or straightaway if you're American).

I'm surprised, I was expecting a total front suspension failure for this race, but Yamaha must have moved that one to the next round... I guess they've got to keep old Ben on his toes.

He must be wondering when they will throw the Colin Edwards Balls On Fire trick at him...

I believe you're right

Hope it's the box.

Hat's off to Casey if he can compete.

Nicky's get-off has to have Vale wondering where the limit is and how close he wants to test it.

Stoner's Fitness Test?

No mention of whether or not Stoner had to do the same "fitness test" that Crutchlow had to do when he "sprained" his ankle at Silverstone. Any word on that David?
