2012 Moscow WSBK Superpole Results
Moscow's first Superpole was a dry one. Qualifying tyres made more of a difference than usual and the new track threw up some surprises.
Superpole one gave us our first 1'34 lap as Tom Sykes showed an early indication of what a fast lap would be. Both Max Biaggi and Eugene Laverty used a qualifier and guaranteed they would be in superpole two, but Sylvain Guintoli and Chaz Davies relied on a race tyre and missed out, qualifying in 13th and 15th respectively.
Superpole two was ruled by Carlos Checa, Tom Sykes and Davide Giugliano. John Hopkins and Loris Baz both failed to get through in spite of promising early form.
Superpole three gave us a new pole position man, with Carlos Checa grabbing his first pole position of the year, beating Tom Sykes and an on-form Eugene Laverty who ran a used qualifier to get a third place start. Leon Haslam beat his team mate Marco Melandri to the last front row place ahead of Max Biaggi and early favourite Davide Giugliano who crashed out before setting a time.
The track looks like it will give us good racing, especially with the overtaking place at the last corner, at the end of the long uphill straight, but rain could threaten both races tomorrow.

Laverty!
What a surprise! Good Sykesy still capable to fill the top in Superpole.
I hope soon Greens will be constant winner and it would be funny to see laverty in Kawasaki - st.Patrick day all year on;D but seriously It's funny there's not much rumours and interests (at least not so many highlighted in media like recent Biaggi meeting with Kawasaki) from decent riders. In my opinion they're ready to win.
