2012 Misano Moto3 Qualifying Practice Result: Polesitter Dominates Final Minutes Of Qualifying

Results and brief summary of qualifying for the Moto3 class at Misano:

Sandro Cortese is tightening his grip on the Moto3 championship, securing his sixth pole of the year in the final minutes of qualifying at Misano. The Red Bull KTM rider put in a late charge to take advantage of improving conditions and start tomorrow's race from pole. Two Italians sit next to the German on the front row tomorrow, Romano Fenati taking 2nd ahead of Niccolo Antonelli, the latter making for a very happy Fausto Gresini, with Misano being the home round for the team, and the first time the series has visited Misano since the death of Marco Simoncelli.

Britain's Danny Kent heads up the second row, despite a minor off when he lost the front of his Red Bull KTM over a bump in the chicane, while a disappointed Luis Salom took 5th. Jonas Folger rounds out the second row, starting from 6th after dominating the damp practice. Cortese's main championship rival Maverick Vinales had a dismal qualifying session, and will start from 11th on the grid.
