2012 Misano MotoGP FP3 Result: Bautista Leads Rossi As Track Starts To Dry

The weather at Misano is finally starting to improve, with the sun tentatively trying to poke its way through the clouds. The track dried out as the session went on, prompting riders to test out both slicks and wets, though the slicks only really started to work towards the end. It was Alvaro Bautista who made best use of the tires, lapping over a second faster than the 2nd place man Valentino Rossi, the Italian finally getting some track time after electing to sit out the awful conditions on Friday. Jorge Lorenzo and Dani Pedrosa followed suit, though the two championship leaders were three seconds off the pace of Bautista and a two seconds slower than Rossi, both the Yamaha and the Honda man only going out on wets. Andrea Dovizioso nabbed 5th, ahead of Danilo Petrucci on the Suter BMW, the first of the CRT riders.

The weather is now improving rapidly, meaning that qualifying should be a more straightforward affair. But with so little track time, the teams will have an awful lot of set up work to do.
