2012 Aragon MotoGP FP2 Result: Spies Edges Pedrosa In The Rain
Ben Spies has topped a fully wet second session of free practice at Aragon, the Factory Yamaha man having been fast throughout in the rain. Dani Pedrosa built his pace as the session progressed, ending the day in 2nd spot, less than a tenth behind Spies. Jorge Lorenzo took 3rd, but was over half a second slower than his Factory Yamaha teammate, while Nicky Hayden bagged a respectable 4th fastest time in the wet. Hayden was the last man to finish within a second of Spies, 5th place man Andrea Dovizioso coming in nearly 1.2 seconds behind Spies.
The rain did mean that everyone got time on the track. Unlike this morning, where the half-wet, half-dry conditions saw the Honda and Yamaha men sit the session out, a properly wet track allowed the riders to go out and put in some work on rain tires without destroying the tires in just a few laps. The time spent on wets today will be of little help on Sunday, when it is expected to be dry, but they should help find a setup for Saturday's qualifying session, for which rain is expected.

Comments
Edwards and the Suter
Not that I was able to watch free practice, but strictly going by the times, it is a bleedin shame Edwards is enduring such a miserable season on the Suter bike.
Having recently shown brilliance in wet weather aboard the Tech 3 Yamaha, with a surgically repaired collarbone no less, his pace at the bottom of the CRT pool, despite the "equalizing" weather, must be incredibly frustrating.
