2014 Argentina Moto2 QP Result: First By The Blink Of An Eye

Tito Rabat made it three poles in a row Saturday during Moto2 qualifying in Argentina. And in what has become Rabat pole-qualifying fashion, he got it late and got it close.  Rabat's end-of-session charge to 1'43.961 put him just one-hundredth in front of second-place qualifier Johann Zarco. Javier Simeon took the final spot on the first row, seven hundredths behind the leader.

Maverick Vinales, Moto2 rookie and winner of the previous race, climbed into fourth after an uneven showing in practice. Jonas Folger, leader during much of the previous practices, took the second spot on the second row. Luis Salom, who crashed out on the first lap at the previous race, grabbed the final spot on the second row, three-tenths shy of the front. In all, four of the top six qualifying riders didn't finish the previous race.

Mattia Pasini heads up the third row, followed by veteran rider Alex De Angelis (8th) and Simon Corsi who finished fifth at the COTA in Texas. Takaaki Nakagama, among the leaders in the first two practices at the Termas de Rio Hondo Circuit, hasn't kept up with the quickening pace since FP3 and managed tenth in Saturday's qualifying.

I'm surprised with Nico

I'm surprised with Nico Terol's performance this year. And Thomas Luthi. And I'm really hoping Sam Lowes can come to grip with the bike and tires soon!

Luthi's got a bad flu

According to the german media, Thomas Luthi caught a very bad flu so he's far from 100%
