Heads up

Before Checa breaks away and simply plays his math for the title. Of course it's a long season, but if he can win and make it to the podium everytime out, no one will stop him.

OTOH, Melandri has adapted remakably well to he R1 and is definitely the guy of the year after Carlos. Maybe all MM needs is a lucky beak to get withing striking distance and take CC out of his comfort zone.

Biaggi better think twice about running into troubles and distractions so often during the weekend and not have a clear head for the races. He did NOT ride like a guy with a number 1 plate today.

Double points

It always seems that the WSBK points race can get out of hand quickly. It's hard to keep in mind that there are so many races in the year. I predict it will be a war of the doubles. Melandri needs to learn to score some doubles. I'm fairly sure Checa will do it again. Any of the top 10 could be back in the hunt with a double and a bit of bad luck for any of the top riders. I predict Melandri will go well at Assen but I wish Valencia was on the calendar as both he and Checa on the Ducati go well there.

I must say ......

...... I was impressed with Marco's race's.

Yes he knows the track from his GP days, but he was riding the bike really well.

The slighlty more open foggy Esses played into his 250 riding style, load the front & chuck it in.

Mr Checa proving that age really is just a number. You have to ask how race one would have gone for him if he had got a better start. He was back in 11th I think at one point & still got back to 3rd. Well done that man.

Shame that Nori binned, in what seemed like a school boy error. Always good to see Nori giving the lads hell.

Smuz was looking great on his NONE factory, factory Duc. Really smooth riding style.

I see the Suzuki is going nowhere again. what is wrong with Suzuki Not doing well in WSB or MotoGP, yet won the Suzuka 8hr last year, always do well in JSB and I've lost count of how many titles they have won in the AMA.
A factory re-think is in order I think.

Great to see Chaz up at the sharp end. I wonder what he could have done with that bike last year and 2009?

As for Max Biaggi ...... I think Jezza McW twitter post was bang on. Forget the €3000 fine, thats pocket change to Max, give him a 2 race ban at Assen. No more face slapping then.

Biaggi ...

... seems to have lost the plot. Some of his riding (in both qualifying and the races) made him look like a novice, making numerous mistakes that put himself and the other riders in danger. I suspect the things that went on in qualifying were just Max being Max (and Marco was not shy in reciprocating) but in the races he was all over the place. We've seen this before (even when he really only needed to finish to win the championship), but so many times in one meeting? The team must be appoplectic with his behaviour.

Methinks he needs a checkup from the neckup!

Marco

Great to see Marco in winning form again. Wonder how fast he could be if the bike was more stable. He was flying even with all the speed wobbles in and out of the turns.
